Stand by - I’m back to the web in full shortly! To begin with, I’ve re-posted the last column I wrote nine years ago, upon leaving Charlotte, NC (my home for 45 years) to a new life in Washington, DC. One regards a show I did in November of 2006, which relates directly to the anti-Muslim bigotry we’re experiencing today - and I’ve now re-posted that show in full for your listening pleasure (?) The Chilean mine rescue that's begun is an example of humanity at its finest - people working together to accomplish something noble. It's good to have a reminder in these days of so much disappointment that we really are capable of much better.
Shana Tova (Happy New Year) to all my friends as the High Holy Days begin for Jews. I’ll be in Temple tonight (Wednesday, 9/8) praying in particular for the misguided who plan to burn Korans on Saturday. I encourage everyone to speak out against this horrendous act. And as we continue the debate about this and the so-called “Ground Zero” mosque, please listen again to the radio show I did back in 2006 posted on my Media page to understand the scope of the problem.
