Congratulations are in order to the Iraqi national soccer team for winning the Asian Cup title
today against Saudi Arabia. The fact that Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds worked together on the team ought to give us hope
that things will move in the right direction in that war-torn country.
As for today's show, we're going to talk about Hillary vs. Obama for the first time in light of
their dust-up during this week's "YouTube" debate. Should we talk to our enemies, or make them work for the privilege
of talks first? And which one of these two is the right one to lead the Democratic Party (if not one of the others running)?
And we need to dicuss news that the FBI wants to recruit 15,000 people to spy on us to stop terrorists.
We'll also talk about the continuing struggles over illegal immigration, after a federal
judge tossed out the Hazelton, Pa. law this week which was considered the toughest in the country, and plans by the Latino
community here to protest recent moves to make things tougher in Prince William and Loudoun counties in Virginia.

Sally Quinn Joins Me At 3:00pm Sunday, July 22!
The Washington Post's Sally Quinn joins me at 3:05pm today to discuss the Post and Newsweek's
week-long project, "Muslims Speak Out," a dialogue with Muslim leaders around the world. It's a very thought-provoking
and vital issue -- our position vis a vis the Islamic world. Join us; and just before that, at 2pm, Chris Plante and
I will talk about the revelations in national intelligence reports that al-Qaeda has essentially reconsitituted itself, and
has found a "safe-haven" in western Pakistan. Isn't that what we said we wouldn't allow to happen?

Hallelujah! The war in Iraq is over! Our troops can come home; we can devote the money
spent to other pursuits, we can stop arguing . . . . right? Well that's what Iraqi's Prime Minister said yesterday,
didn't he? They can handle it on their own? So what are we doing there? And besides, Rep. Sens. John Warner
and Richard Lugar have a new proposal to wind down, and they're not "Surrender Monkeys," are they?
But what about al-Qaeda? New reports say they're stronger than at any time since 9/11.
So how is that possible?
We have lots to discuss today, obviously, including the sad decision in Prince William County,
Va. concerning illegal immigration, and many more items of note. Join me for a full two hours today.

Well, the fun continues . . . Prince William County in Virginia is about to pass an ordinance that
will basically require all legal citizens to carry around passports or birth certificates to prove their status, to crack
down on illegal immigrants who use services they're not qualified for. I know those of you who agree with this measure
don't want to hear any criticism for this, but you're wrong. It's a mistake. And it's un-American. We'll
discuss this, along with the continuing desertion by Republican lawmakers away from President Bush's policy in Iraq, and the
Scooter Libby pardon, and Live Earth . . . and about 14 more things I'll try to pack into a couple of hours on a hot Sunday
afternoon!

Happy July 4th week!
There are more concerns on the plate today than we can possibly address, but we'll get into the
terrorist attacks in Great Britain over the past few days, and the final rulings from the Supreme Court (especially the horrible
mistake on school desegregation), and the disaster which was the failing to reform immigration, and the move towards Republicans
abandoning President Bush on the Iraq war . . . and that doesn't even let me mention Michael Moore's "Sicko," or the "Fairness
Doctrine," or, or, or . . . you see why I get so frustrated?
