Correction . . .
Well, let's see if I can actually read a calendar: I'll not be on the air this Sunday, 12/31, as WMAL will be carrying Maryland
basketball that afternoon. Chris Plante and I will both be back on the following Sunday, 1/7, in the 2pm hour, and I'll have
a go at it solo (with your calls, of course) in the 3pm hour. And hopefully, I'm finished with surgery and holiday interruptions,
and we can talk every Sunday afternoon from this point on.
Here's to a terrific 2007 -- Happy New Year to all. I'll talk to you soon.

Here's To A Great 2007!
Happy and Merry Everything to everyone! (How's that for being inclusive?) I won't be
on the air either this Sunday, 12/24, or the following, 1/7. On the 24th, WMAL is carrying special Christmas programming,
and there's a Maryland basketball game on the 7th during my normal time period. You'll hear me (and Chris Plante) again
on Sunday 1/14.
Many thanks to everyone for your notes of support and encouragement, and your prayers as I went
through surgery twice since early August. I'm looking forward to the new year with renewed faith and optimism that we
WILL find our way past our problems.

On The Air Today!
So I'm finally back on the air today, at 2pm with Chris Plante, and at 3pm solo (you and me, that
is). Chris and I plan to discuss the current proposals to send MORE American troops to Iraq. In the 3pm hour,
I'll update what's happened since my "parody" show on 11/26 concerning anti-Muslim bias in this country and elsewhere.
As I've said, the response was beyond overwhelming. (By the way, you can still listen to the recording of that show
by scrolling to the bottom of this page and clicking on either the "Listen Now" link or by downloading it for listening later.)
And by popular request, I'll be discussing, in the spirit of inclusiveness and respect for the
beliefs of others, what I began last December -- concerning poinsettia plants and their Christian (Christmas) symbolism.

One last thing: 630 WMAL will be running special programming beginning at Noon on Christmas
Eve day, 12/24, so neither Chris nor I wil be on that afternoon. And there's a Maryland basketball game on New Year's
Eve day, so we won't be on that day either. That means today is both the first Sunday we'll have had a chance to talk
since the show of 11/26 (because I've been off for two weeks following surgery) and the last chance we'll have to talk until
January 7th.

ON THE WAY BACK . . . .
I'll be back on the air this coming Sunday, 12/17, at 2:00pm ET with Chris Plante, and at 3:00pm ET solo (with you)! Once
again, please excuse me for not having been able to respond to the TON of email you've sent me since the program of 11/26
concerning anti-Muslim bias. I'm just now recovering from surgery.
I'll have plenty to say in the 3pm hour about that show, and the response from around the world (that's NOT an exaggeration).

CATCHING UP . . .
Hi, folks. I'm just beginning to re-enter the land of the functioning after last week's surgery, and wanted to post a quick
note that I will NOT be on the air again this Sunday, 12/10, but will return on the 17th. Suffice it to say that I have a
lot stored up to discuss with you. Following my last broadcast on the anti-Muslim bigotry that's now so obviously rampant
in our country, and the print, radio and TV interviews and stories that followed, I have been flooded with thousands of emails.
Many apologies for not replying -- I hope you'll understand that my surgery stopped me pretty much in my tracks, and I will
try to catch up as soon as physically possible.
You should know that I've received email from around the world, interview requests from the BBC and Channel 4 in England,
and I have plenty to say about all that's happened, what you've said to me -- not to mention catching up on what's happened
in the world while I've been out of action. So stand by -- I'll update you as soon as I can sit at the computer for more
than a few minutes at a time, and I hope you'll join me on the air next Sunday.
