I know many of you are concerned about the change in our culture in this country, with protests erupting over the "de-Christmas-ization" of the upcoming holiday period.  In fact, many of you say that this is a "Christian Country."  We'll talk about that tonight in some detail, including questions such as whether or not there should be a National Christmas Tree, and, in fact -- since many of you want to make English the "official" language of the U.S., whether we should just declare this "officially" a Christian nation.  And we'll try to discuss this in a respectful manner.  This and more, tonight.  Join me!

Mark this week in your calendars as the turning point -- the real turning point -- in the Iraq War.  With the call for our troops to be withdrawn from Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.), long considered a hawk on defense and very close to our military, Congress and the Bush Administration became embroiled in a real debate about the merits of our involvement there.  We'll discuss all of this in detail tonight.  In the meantime, it seems to me that what we're hearing has a lot to do with how we remember the Vietnam War, and our involvement there.  What were the real lessons of Vietnam, and have we followed those lessons?  Vote in the on my page on 630 WMAL's website . . . and tune in tonight from 7pm-9pm and we'll try to have a civil conversation about this . . . .

It's been a really interesting week -- with the off-off year elections going to the Democrats, it's safe to say, as have most political pundits, that President Bush, with an approval rating continuing to drop to the mid-30s, and his Republican / Conservative followers, are in trouble.  From my perspective, what happened this week is that the great "middle" of the American people began to exert real moral values.  We'll talk about this in detail, including:

-- The ongoing debate about the war in Iraq and how we got into it.
-- Senator John Edwards saying publicly, about his vote in support of the war, "I was wrong."
-- Senator John McCain taking on the Bush Administration -- at least the President and Vice-President -- on the issue of the treatment of prisoners in our captivity.

-- And then there's the whole "Intelligent Design" (Creationism vs. Evolution) debate . . .

Tune in at 7pm.

A simple question:  Now that the polls show most of the country has finally come to its senses about President Bush and his administration, can we do something about any of these things:

-- Having gone to war on doctored information.
-- Having secret prisons in places like the satellites of the former Soviet Union.
-- Having top officials out a CIA operative to punish her husband for opposing their policies.
-- Having the FBI digging through the personal information of thousands of innocent Americans.

We'll talk about all this and much more tonight, including:

-- If you're so surprised to hear about teenagers having sex in high school auditoriums, are ready now to teach them about how to protect themselves properly?

Join me, won't you?  I promise you a different point of view . . . . if you can handle it.
